Paris Cinéma iffFrom July, 3 to 13, 2010
From July 3 to 13, the Paris Cinema IFF is looking forward to welcoming you for a cinematographic, popular and entertaining beginning of summer.
With an attractive 5€-price per screening, the Paris Cinema IFF is once again taking possession of the city by proposing the audience prestigious premieres, an international competition of feature-length films, some rare or unexpected films, and meetings with some prominent cinema figures.
Guest of honor of the Paris Cinema IFF: independent, free minded, great American actress Jane Fonda, on whom Felini, Cukor, Lumet or Godard shed light; also filmmaker Eugène Green, a true cinematographic poet who reinvented cinema and made the French language sing like no other.
After Brazil, Lebanon, the Philippines and Turkey, the festival will once again honor the cinematography of one country; Japan being this year's highlight with over 100 films of which about 50 are new.
The festival will also offer numerous free events that will hustle and bustle the Parisian macadam such as the Brocante Cinéma (vintage cinema trade-market), the Traversées de Paris (Trips across Paris) with cinema for theme and a gigantic Ciné-Karaoké, on July 13, at the CENTQUATRE as a closing event.
Also, a great TOY STORY day, on Sunday July 11, will allow the attendees to rediscover - for the first time in 3D - the first two installments of the trilogy, before enjoying the premiere of TOY STORY 3, one of the most awaited events of this year, in 3D as well.
Supported by the City of Paris, chaired by Actress Charlotte Rampling and run by festival director Aude Hesbert and general manager Anne Barjot, the festival will officially begin on Saturday July 3 with the Nuit du Cinéma (Night of cinema) and will end on the 13, punctuated by a great cine-karaoke followed by a ball until the small hours.
