She is 81 years old and still dancing. In Brazil, Bastu follows the rhythm of her village festivals, of traditional music, of her surreal fantasies, and of dreams that have made up her life. One morning she discovers the body of her husband, who has died of old age. Despite her sudden mourning and being haunted by her husband, she retains her spirit, her touches of humour, and her desire to have fun and to live. This dreamlike, impressionistic film, visually stunning, is as much a documentary about a remote village as it is the story of wisdom, told through the portrait of an irrepressible old woman.
