After four years of absence, Adrien, 19, returns to his father in order to try and patch things up. There he meets Louise, his father’s girlfriend, just a tad older than he is…. This Œdipal study of a love triangle is marked by teenage rage and passion. In this third feature film, characterized by the cineaste's emblematically singular “up-close” directing, Olivier Assayas continues to gracefully take hold of the emotions and scars of youth, producing a realistic social thriller thanks to the performances of Jean-Pierre Léaud as the father and Thomas Langmann and Judith Godrèche as the insolent young adults.
