After trying her hand at modeling, dress designing and journalism, Isabella Rossellini, daughter of one of the most mythical film couples, begins her career as an actress in 1976 in Vincente Minelli’s A Matter Of Time. Inspiring the greatest filmmakers from Abel Ferrara to James Gray, it is Isabella Rossellini’s turn to become a living legend after her feverish and fascinating portrayal of Dorothy Vallens in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. She will be seen next in Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s Poulet Aux Prunes and in Keyhole, Canadian Guy Maddin’s latest film with whom she already shot five films. Paris Festival IFF will have the honor to welcome her at MK2 Bibliothèque on Sunday July 3rd for a tribute and the premiere of Julie Gavras’ 3 fois 20 ans in which she stars with William Hurt. A retrospective will honor her, enlightening her career as an actress but also as a young director.
