Spotlight with 3 films on an experienced filmmaker, through more than 20 documentaries, who explored with the dedication of an anthropologist the origins of the myths and beliefs of his country. In the 70s and the 80s, Nicolas Echevarria explores remote regions of Mexico: he lives in unknown tribes, tries to decipher their language and penetrate their belief. He follows them in the gathering of peyotl, hallucinogenic mushroom, picks up the shamanic speech and films syncretic rites. His documentaries as valuable and fascinating testimonies, lead him to bring to the screen in 1991 the epic journey of a Spanish conquistador who became shaman, Alvar Nunez, known as Cabeza de Vaca.
