The Million Ryo Pot, Sadao Yamanaka
Unjustly neglected in France, he died in 1938 at the age of 28 and is often referred to as "the Japanese Jean Vigo", he unquestionably deserves an international recognition.

From the young and missed Yamanaka, only 3 films have survived the years: The Million Ryo Pot (1935), Kōchiyama Sōshun (1936) and Humanity and Paper Balloons (1937).

The Festival is delighted to screen them all together, for the fist time, in original version subtitled in French.

Key Events

. His three films will be screened at la Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris from July 7 to 9
